Your home’s water heater is undoubtedly one of the most important elements in your home. Most of the time, it sits there unassumingly, working hard whenever hot water is needed, and keeping your entire family comfortable. In this post, and our next one, we’d like to focus on this humble household hero. For today, we’d like to explain some of the pros and cons of going with a tankless water heater.

Tankless water heaters have become more common in recent years, and it’s no wonder. Traditional tank-based water heaters are designed to store a reservoir of water at a specific temperature. They heat up the water periodically to keep it up to temperature, even when there’s no one at home. In the long run, this can use a significant amount of energy. Tankless heaters, however, heat the water on demand, typically by running it through a coil. However, tankless water heaters can also be significantly more expensive, and they may require you to install multiple heaters, depending on the size of your home.
